An aerial photograph of Lake Amadeus, a vast salt lake in Australia's Northern Territory. From this high vantage point, the lake appears as if the surface of the moon and far from what most people imagine when they think of the Australian outback. We got especially lucky with the light during this flight, the dappled cloud allowing for interesting lighting effects on the landscape.
About series: Rarely photographed, Amadeus centres on Lake Amadeus, an expansive salt lake 50km north of Uluru in Australia’s Northern Territory. Flying in a small plane with the door removed, the intricate patterns and details in the lake below begin to emerge, providing a wealth of photographic opportunity.
