When you spend quite a bit of time alone in the outdoors, (as landscape painters do π), it becomes increasingly apparent that all things are connected in many ways.
Where I am, there are a number of different varieties of birds that feed on the nectar in the flowers of the bushes and trees. They are mostly small, about the size of a sparrow, and the feeding is quite a competitive process, with the larger bird generally winning out.
The colours of the birds are striking and diverse, and the feeding process is a busy and swift affair. As such, the spectacle becomes a lively performance, full of colour and sudden movements
