My landscape work is influenced by the strong contrasting colours of beautiful Western Australia. As I walked along the beach at Bunker Bay I was captured by the fast moving changes to the sky, the dunes and the sea. Within seconds the colour changed. I captured this scene with my camera and translated. Plein air painting would not have sufficed as it would have been dark before I finished. Now I know why Monet went back to the same scene day after day at the same time.
