This stunning painting captures a scenic part of Arkaroola, where towering trees stood over the creek bed, before a stunning sunlit rockface. Arkaroola is a wildlife sanctuary in the north of the Flinders Ranges, South Australia. This is one of a series painted there at a week-long art workshop. This painting was started under the trees, and finished in the studio on site in Arkaroola.
The painting started on paper, which has been mounted onto a canvas, including wrapped the edges of the canvas so the painting continues around the side. It has been finished with extra layers of medium and varnish for protection.
