Painted onto two strips of lace either side of the abstract river, The Gorge, like most of my landscape work is a response to the patterns and textures found in nature. The pattern in the lace highlighting the pattern found in the desert sands.

Work from this collection focuses on the Australian outback with an aerial perspective which emphasises the commonality of patterns found at any scale, from the microscopic to the satellite. The tiny dots are vegetation, wild flowers and shrubs, regenerated by the river cutting through the desert.
