Watercolour on paper
Signed on the front.
This is from an art class entitled painters in the South of France. My inspiration is from Vincent van Gough who lived in Arles and used pointillism in his work, notably in one of his self-portraits. Pointillism is the practice of applying small strokes or dots of colour to a surface so that from a distance they visually blend together. I liked the effect and decided to have a go.
The view I used is through an arch at Ponte Venere, North west Italy. Ponte Venere is close to the French Mediterranean coast . It has the similar sunlight and blue skies and sea.
