This is a chestnut-fronted macaw or severe macaw perched on a stall in Peru. I thought the macaw's twisted preening position and the layers of feathers were interesting. It's what inspired me to paint it.
The bright green and blue feathers together with the sunshine filtering through the trees will add brightness to any room. I suggest using a gold frame if you wish to frame it.
Here's bit of general information. These macaws are native to northern South America. They live between 30 & 80 years. They measure around 45 cm of which half is the tail. They nest in tree holes and lay 2-3 eggs.
