The landscape is based on a photo I took in Egypt in 2001‚ in the eastern part of the country. The figure on the left is based on a sculpture of the Roman Emperor Commodus. What I also tried to create here was a sense of drama‚ some mysterious narrative taking place as well as a sense of ancient history.
