This work has undergone a few changes over the last couple of years. Only recently have I become satisfied with where it is now. The landscape here is from a region in Libya. I loved the contrast between the smooth sand dunes and the rocky outcrop. The red band towards the bottom of the painting features Ancient Roman ornament while the wider band of diamonds below is based upon patterns I have seen in Moroccan decoration.

As much as I love desert landscapes (particularly the one featured here!) I am proud of the Roman ornament and the band of diamonds, all of which were individually drawn and then painted.
