Signed on the front.

This is a self-portrait imagined in the full military dress of a Roman Emperor on campaign. Mixed with the new/contemporaneous arms and armour are relics of the ancient past, the actual time period this figure takes place. Therefore there are two allusions/signs of the past as well as signs (ironically the relics or archaeological finds) of the present.
This work was also a great labour of love, delving into the intricacies of ornamentation of Ancient Roman armour.
