Watercolour on wood, ready to hang.
Signed on the front.
The female Leaden flycatcher listens intently as her mate sings to her.
I first spotted this bird a few years ago in my local reserve area. The various flycatchers in eastern Australia are similar in appearance so I could only correctly identify him through his song.
I love the colour of these species, a steely blue-grey with the female having a beautiful buff chest.
This painting has been completed on quality watercolour paper, then mounted onto 2cm thick cradle board, finished with several coats of cold wax, and cured for 4 weeks. Ready to hang.
