A massive Rhino towers benevolently over a small oxpecker bird.
At first glance the relationship may seem one sided, as they often do. The small bird gets a free ride by hitching with the giant Rhinoceros. But Rhinos are nearly blind and tend to be loners, which makes detecting a poacher a tricky task. Their feathered friend not only keeps them parasite free, but also alerts them to approaching enemies.
This work utilizes special techniques to create interesting textures, and a limited palette to accentuate how these creatures live in harmony with each other and their surroundings.
Framed behind glass with a beautiful hardwood border stained ash black.
8cm archival mat surround.
Ready to hang.
