My paintings explore the emotional texture of ordinary life; the quiet moments when we are alone with ourselves.
I am drawn to figures in states of pause: reading, resting, waiting, wandering or simply lost in thought. These seemingly uneventful moments can hold complex inner worlds. I leave their narratives deliberately unresolved, inviting viewers to bring their own memories and interpretations to the work.
Through heightened colour, expressive brushwork, pattern and light, I transform familiar scenes into emotionally charged spaces. I am particularly interested in the tension between visual exuberance and psychological stillness, where a painting may be alive with colour while its subject remains quiet and introspective.
Ultimately, my work is about paying attention: finding significance in fleeting moments and the strange beauty of being caught between the everyday and the extraordinary.
