Artwork Description

A local bush park near me in Sydney's south. Carss Bush Park has a netted swimming pool. Part of Kogarah Bay. Sometimes known as "The Mudhole" there are other times when the water is clear and blue green like this late afternoon with long shadows. A small painting with larger loose brush work.

A self taught artist. I don't restrict myself in media and styles.I enjoy painting in oils, acrylics, gouache and watercolour. I have an affinity for capturing moments from places I have been lucky enough to travel to. Often developing paintings from plein air sketches I have done in the field. Whilst I enjoy contemporary realism and impressionism I will sometimes stray into the realm of pure abstraction. Convincing portrayals of light and colour are usually my main goals. Subject matter can range from the grand to the mundane and quirky.
