There is nothing quite like the spectacle of a flock of birds taking off out of the scrub. The screeching, the colour, the flapping and the thrill of seeing birds in such numbers enjoying their native habitat is always a source of inspiration for me.
This flock of galahs were enjoying a late afternoon feed amongst the grasses in our campsite on the road into Uluru when we disturbed them. The beautiful red soil, darkened by an overnight shower of rain but lit with bright sunshine, added to the picture.
Painted in acrylics on canvas, this classic Australian outback image is sealed with a satin varnish and framed in a natural oak frame, ready to hang straight on your wall.
