“The Fig Tree” is a painting of a rainforest Fig Tree growing in the mountains near my home. It illustrates how effectively nature uses its environment and draws on the available nutrients and landscape to flourish to is full potential. Nature can be seen doing this even in the harshest the conditions.
I see this as an analogy to our lives, we use what is provided in our environment from our parents, our home, our schools, our teachers, our work places and our friends to make the very best of our lives - to flourish.
I loved painting the light as it illuminated the buttress roots of this stunning tree and it is one of my favourites :-)
