"Bouquet with Red Rose" is an original oil painting on a ready to hang stretched canvas panel measuring 60 x 50 x 4 cm.

The painting is made up of lots of layers of paint and many of the marks in the work are large and expressive. The work was painted in my studio from a real life set up and by the time I was finishing the painting the rose was in it's decline yet still maintained it's exuberant redness. It's downcast pose is a little hint at the old momento mori theme..nothing lasts forever.

The surface has been varnished for added protection and my signature is on the front.
