Artwork Description

Oil on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed on the front.

The Banksia and Protea flowers are native to both Australia and South Africa
with a strong connection to both countries, and a passion for flowers and nature
this body of work feels like a natural progression from the abstract poppies that
the artist is known for.

Layers of paint and layers of abstraction are applied until the form and color emerges from the
canvas, this beautiful bouquet has been captured in a painterly way, typifying the artists technique.

Artist statement. " Just like resolving issues in everyday life the process of painting for me can be likened to that, it is much the same and by taking steps to add layer by layer of paint, the work emerges from the canvas until ultimately it is resolved. I love working with color, it evokes an emotional response, for me there is a strength in applying color to a canvas, the colors can be both primary or subtle the response is the same. Thank you for looking and I hope that you also make that emotional connection with my work.

Styled scenes are not 100% to scale
Cost of custom packaging to protect the work during transit is included in the price.
This work is available for dispatch in mid April 2020 to be sure it is dry enough.

Blues, greens, peach lilac and pink repetitive mark making, using a small brush to create a veneer over the abstract landscape below. resulting in a calming work.An abstract landscape of layers and contrast in small brush strokes arranged in a pattern, covered in individual mark making creating a veneer, the intention is to obscure what lies below in a beautiful way. Each mark is the result of many layers, and the colours are all mixed by the artist in a careful way. This work features every shade of blue and green, and hints and hues of lilac, peach and pinkA joyful work full of deep to pastel tones and colours, inspired by my garden outside my art studio. Shades of bluey green and all shades of green mark making creates a veneer over the abstract landscape background.Hot shades in the background, completely paired back by a veneer of brush strokes, in shades of blues and greens, giving the viewer a pixelated aerial view of an abstract landscape.
