In my landscape work I strive to capture images that provoke recognition, feelings of positivity and perhaps nostalgia. I return to the places and scenes that have touched me deeply, that have generated a sense of calm and peacefulness.
This painting is from my Lake Conjola series. I have applied an acrylic ground to gessoed board and worked over this in oils, sometimes thickly, sometimes in a glaze in order to suggest how the light interacts within the landscape.
