Wandering through clinical walls lined with history and culture.
The back of house at the Queensland museum holds thousands of years of history, displayed systematically in lines, sections and columns. Wandering walls is my reaction to the spirits within those walls, the spirits hovering above each item, wanting to escape back to where they came from, not being settled.
Each item within the back of house has centuries of history and culture within them. They have been taken from their original place of being, they have been handed down by generations, they have been donated by people wanting to preserve history and culture. But I feel what they don’t have today, is the acknowledgement and recognition from each person that views them through the glass panels. So please don’t just view think, think about what it means.
