Artwork Description

Oil on wood

Signed on the front.

“Castlehead is about an hour hiking through the rainforest, turn right at the intersection going up the hill towards the Ruined Castle. As you get higher up, the majestic sight a Castlehead will start to appear. Castlehead is a headland on the Narrow Neck Peninsula just south of Katoomba. It was named Castlehead because it looks down on the Ruined Castle.” Morning glow over Castlehead was painted from one of my many photos taken on a very cold winter morning just after sunrise. The lovely light , shade and mist capurtered my interest to paint this stunning scene.

If you would like this painting in a different size or a similar painting I do accept commissions. Please contact Bluethumb. I have literally hundreds of photos of the Blue Mountains to choose from. Or you may have a special one of your own.
