The theme for the art competition that this artwork was created for was: Topographies.
I have represented and acknowledged the 6 different Aboriginal Countries which have been, and always will be, part of the Hunter Region (included in the bigger description). I have also included within the centre, my take on one of the heritage artworks of the hunter region.
For me, this painting explores the relationship between the people and the vast environment that the Hunter Region offers. Rather than one specific setting within the Hunter Region, I decided I wanted to celebrate the full extent, and encompass all of the features of the Hunter Region and all that it provides.
The colours within the painting depicts that of the land and water around the Hunter Region.
