This stunning, Australian native flora illustration features a vibrant Waratah (Telopea speciosissima) flowerhead. Producing spectacular crimson flower heads and red-coloured outer petals, known as bracts. Found on sandstone ridges around Sydney, nearby mountain ranges and on the NSW South Coast.
Artwork is hand drawn using waterproof pigment liners, then select areas are painted with watercolour. Sections are intentionally left with no colour, to add a modern, design element. Coloured pencil helps to define, create detail and texture to each piece. White gouache is used for flower highlights. High quality, 300gsm watercolour paper. Sprayed with permanent matt finish to protect the artwork.
