Potato Point is an original painting based on the beach at the Potato Point campsite located several hours south of Sydney. We've camped there several times (actually, this spot was my introduction to camping and clearly it was a success!) and there's nothing better than waking up, opening the tent and finding yourself right on the beach. As the late afternoon sun goes down, the light catches the rocks and the waves and it's a breathtaking view.
This painting was made based on this time of day, when the sun has gone down behind the campsite but still stretches over the ocean towards the horizon.
I chose a flat, geometric style to form this modern piece, showing the simplicity of the beauty in this part of the world.
