This image has often been included in my artbproduction, as I have used it in many different guises. It has apperared as an etching, a linocut and several oil and mixed medium paintings. It has become a favourite subject , to which I return with regularity. This painting has quiet distant haze, which could allude to an approaching storm. To create distance , I reduce the area of maximum contrast as the sheep recede into the horizon, which is a technique taught to me by my Fine Art professor many years ago. It allows the viewer to experience the inherent drama, by varying the focus points within the pictorial scheme.
