Artwork Description

Acrylic on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed certificate of authenticity.

The sea is a recurrent source of inspiration for my work. Here, it represents memory, passage and transience, recalling my childhood migration to Australia. The streamers, signifying broken ties with family and home, linger like memories. This painting was inspired by a photograph of my mother and I en route to Australia in the 1950s.
