Left of Centre was inspired by a trip into empty and remote places of Australia's interior. This piece promotes a sense of desertion as the viewer is just passing through but it's also one of discovery as there is a lingering feeling no one has been here for a long time. I like the way sings and structures carve up an otherwise empty landscape and so I used colour and texture to form the background rather than objects. The horizon is the ever-present constant in the outback, sometimes that's all there is. This is a large scale, semi abstract work that is heavily textured and will brighten any room.
