GANTHEAUME
Broome, Western Australia
The contrasting colours of the deep pindan red cliffs and the shimmering turquoise ocean up here in north-west Australia, is quite simply breathtaking. Gantheaume Point encompasses a stretch of white sandy beach as well as a red rock cliff face overlooking the Indian Ocean and as photographic as it might seem, it took me a while of exploring the rugged headland to compose this shot. There are real dinosaur footprints - over 130 million years old - preserved in the reef rock and I wanted to capture a beautiful image that also spoke of this locations prehistoric significance.
