Watercolour on paper
Signed on the back.
This artwork was created on cotton rag paper and painted from life during a six-hour sitting. Painting from life is a significant source of inspiration in my art practice.
For this particular artwork on paper, I used a palette of soft pink colour with grey washes and touches of soft blues. I used watercolour glazing techniques and a mix of brushwork and loose gestural strokes with various hues and tints. While painting from life within a limited time frame, I created a spontaneous pink-wash background.
Life drawing is the foundation of my art practice. It challenges my observation skills and develops my unique style. I am passionate about working with watercolours, which constantly surprise me with their exquisite beauty.
I painted this work entirely over one sitting. (6hours)
