This painting was painted en plain air from the picnic area adjacent to Gunlum Falls in Kakadu National Park. It was a beautiful fine day right at the beginning of the dry season in 2019. The colours were so bright when sun rose just hit enough to fully illuminate the top and one side of the waterfall. and I have tried to capture this moment. In the afternoon most of the waterfall is in shade.
