The Glasshouse mountains in Australia are the subjects of several Aboriginal stories. Coonowrin is said to be the son of Tibrogargen and Beerwah. During a violent storm, Tibrogargan commanded his son to take his mother and siblings to safety. Instead Coonowrin ran off. When his father found him he hit him causing his crooked neck. Tibrogargan was so ashamed of his son, to this day he sits with his back to him.
This mountain also called Crookneck is an iconic part of the Glass House Mountains on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland. These mountains are visible from Brisbane and Bribie Island.
