"Coffee shop Protea" is inspired from a rustic local coffee shop setting that uses recycled jars on refurbished tables and Australian natives flowers. This is one of a series of paintings painted in a bold impressionist styled still life in oil. Using a limited pallet and bold line to bring the composition together in a graphical way whilst still keeping some of that shabby/sheek aesthetic that inspired me. This painting wraps around the deep edge canvas with shadows and light that extend the still life image around, catching the eye from different angles.
