These large canvases are a challenge that's for sure. I had a lot of moored boats in this painting but they didn't 'look right', they just didn't want to be painted, after four or five attempts here it is....just the one, a subconscious response to isolation .
After some thought I had an epiphany of sorts, I placed an outline of a dove with a small twig in it's mouth, the symbol of the Christian spirit of hope and trust. The dove symbol is hard to see, just as it's hard to see and end to the pandemic but it is there, trust in our scientists that they will find a vaccination that will help the world is our hope.
