This artwork was painted with a acrylic pallet on a stretched canvas 61cm x 45.50cm with a depth of 1.5 cm on a acrylic canvas and a protective coat of (gloss) varnish has been applied to seal the acrylic paints and ensure the work stays looking its best for a life time

These abstract magpies are resident in the gum trees of the castle They are bold noisy birds that have many calls but are well known for their intelligence . I love painting magpies as their coats are shiny and the contrast of the black against the white is striking. I created a bright background of reds, orange and yellow and green leaves with the white gum trees displaying their beauty and shade to the castle and rocks laid in the front beside the stairs leading up to the castle . Lots of colour and fun at the castle and would be ideal for a kids room
