This artwork was painted with a acrylic pallet on a stretched canvas 60.50cm x 45.50cm with a depth of 1.5 cm on a acrylic canvas and a protective coat of (gloss) varnish has been applied to seal the acrylic paints and ensure the work stays looking its best for a life time

These staring magpies are striking against the orange, red and black background and their stare is captivating. They are bold, noisy birds that have many calls but are well known for their intelligence . I love painting magpies as their coats are shiny and the contrast of the black against the white is striking. I created a bright background of reds, oranges and blacks to bring the magpies to the foreground as the focal point and added a bit of Prussian blue to the tails to brighten them up, not forgetting the bright orange staring eyes that they have. It can be hung in a kids room or any room which would bring the outside inside so your looking at nature at its best
