Artwork Description

Watercolour on paper

Signed on the front.

This artwork comes with an external frame

This one's for the lovers of all things bright and colourful!
I don't think I appreciated enough just how colourful these native Australian Crested Pigeons are, until I worked on this painting.

It’s called “Looking for Love” because this amorous Crested Pigeon kept visiting my workplace and doing a mating display dance to his own reflection! I managed to sneak up on him and take a reference photo of him mid-dance through the window, resulting in this painting. This dancing feathered friend would make a cheerful addition to any room.

This colourful and fun artwork is already professionally framed in a beautiful gold frame with a magenta matt and UV glass.

The artwork was recently exhibited at the QLD Wildlife Artists Society 40th Anniversary exhibition at Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens, Brisbane.

All art by Nadya Neklioudova

A realistic study of Powerful Owl feathers, drawn from life by Nadya Neklioudova. On the right is a large wing feather, spanning from the top to the bottom of the artwork. It has dark-brown and white/pale stripes, and a small blue shadow to the right. The other three, arranged on alternating angles, are small and fluffy feathers with a brown and white chevron pattern.Mixed-media drawing of a female Powerful Owl, on brown-tinted paper (proper art paper, acid-free), which makes the white highlights in the feathers really stand out, and the dark tones recede. The face, eyes, beak and head feathers are exquisitely detailed with fine ink pen lines and pencil shading. In the background are loose diagonal pencil lines, their colour hinting at a bushland forest background. A watercolour portrait of a Dingo, by Nadya Neklioudova. The Dingo's natural, earthy ochre colours stand out on the grassy, natural bushland background of olive-green. There is a gentle softness to this painting, the animal's face and eyes are detailed, while the soft fur fades into the environment. In this watercolour, the Rufous Fantail bird is in the middle of the artwork, sitting on her cup-shaped nest woven out of fine grasses and spiderwebs. You can see the top half of the bird with her reddish-brown and black head, white under the chin, and speckled white and black breast. Her folded wings are grey, rump is reddish brown and resting tail is grey with white tips. The nest is on a thin Macadamia tree branch crossing the painting diagonally, and forking into smaller branchlets as it goes. Sage-green and light green leaves seem to wrap protectively around the nesting bird, with one leaf brown. The background is a light green wash with blue-greens, suggesting dappled light in a rainforest.
