This original encaustic painting was inspired from the memories of my best friend growing up, the family dog. He was my fellow explorer and tireless hide and seek playmate. He taught my spirit to be wild, free and watchful. Within the many layers of fused bees wax that make up this colourful piece I have embedded paper and lace used along side pigments and inks. This encaustic work has been polished /sealed to an archival standard with no need to frame or put behind glass. "Summer's" story is born of respect for all my animal friends.
