Gouldian Finches are one of the iconic finches of Australia due to their colourful plumage. Historically collected throughout Australia for export, they are now endangered in Queensland but ironically found all over the world in aviaries. As a part of a team, I help with surveying and monitoring a population that was previously thought extinct in the area of Cape York Peninsula. I concentrate on grass identification to better understand what the finches are eating and why they are in that country. More about these and other finches can be found on www.finchesqueensland.org and on my website: www.pamschultzgallery.com
