Artwork Description

Acrylic on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed on the front.

Painted in my preferred style of aerial perspective Bribie Island Summers was created as a three part metaphor for life here in coastal Queensland, set around the imagery of Bribie Island. Each panel represents different stages of life, from early childhood to retirement.

#1 gives us a view of the busy days set around our infancy when the greatest excitement was lining up for an ice cream.

#2 sees us grown to teenagers and young adults, pairing off and lining up at the beer caravan.

#3 shows the idyllic order of maturity, no longer immersed in chaos, there is order and quiet.

Aerial view of cattle making their way to water, late in the afternoon through an arid, rocky landscape.Three hang gliders hovering over a valley above so many tiers of trees leading down to sky blue water. The gliders appear to be negotiating turns as they try to capture the thermals to carry them higher.View across a crystal clear creek to a rocky outcrop dotted with thin white trunk trees against a cloudless sky. The water so clear that you can see the stones beneath.Whales breaching in crystal blue water against a cloudless sky. Sky. water and distant island are rendered in swirl patterns suggesting South Pacific cultural motif.
