A deep exploration into the captivating yet disconcerting world of surgery, beauty standards and ideals, and the profound sacrifices individuals put their own bodies through and endure to conform to a certain appearance. In 'Botched IIโ, the images become a mirror, reflecting the contradictory narratives of vanity and vulnerability, aspiration and desperation. My goal was to create emotional depth, evoking the raw essence of human struggles and the profound longing for acceptance. The paintings display what we really are underneath, no matter how many modifications someone goes through, we are still all muscle, skin and bone. I depict the allure of perfection, where flawless features from head to toe become the ultimate aspiration. However, juxtaposed with this meaning is how the artwork exposes the raw consequences and complexities hidden beneath that โperfectโ surface.
