Acrylic on canvas, ready to hang.

“Inside the SUN” is the latest work in this series and celebrates the dominant feature of our Australian landscape. The sun is rarely the subject of creative artistic endeavor. I chose a 200cm x 200cm canvas to respect the size of the image being portrayed. Again, using recycled and repurposed acetate sheets and three heavy bodied acrylics, I hand cut and adhered 1,600 50mm x 50mm squares - a bitmap of individual solar pixels that coalesce as you retreat from the canvas. Each square is uniquely painted and “pictures within a picture” can be seen throughout the work.
