I love working with watercolour outdoors to paint the incredible Aussie landscape. Working quickly from observation, this medium allows me to make decisive, fluid marks to truly capture the fleeting nature of my subject. The light and colours change so quickly and it’s always a pleasure to be outside experiencing the landscape and describing it with paint in the moment. If there’s a cold beer and a good swimming river handy while I’m at it, then honestly, life can’t get much better! The works in this collection were painted back in my studio using my plein air studies.
