I was very excited to do this commission, I love seeing Sydney from this angle, heading down through North Sydney to the Wendy Whiteley garden is one of my favourite places to explore. For me the amount of colour that comes from the garden adds an element of life to the urban surroundings, hence the title living city. Seeing people come and go across the bridge towards the heart of Sydney in trains, cars and ferries it looks like the city has its own life-force. I love this place, and I need to paint it more.
