This is part of the Tawaaf series inspired by Siddiqa Juma. This makes for a wonderful Eid or a Hajj gift!

This beautiful yet subtle watercolour painting shows the Ka'bah surrounded by concentric circles of watercolour washes in one of my favourite colours - Payne's Gray. The closer we are to our prayers, the deeper our connection is - so the circles become darker as we move forward to the Ka'bah.

The painting of the Ka'bah has a subtle sheen of gold using gouache paint. My paintings are incomplete without some metallic paints!

My paintings have a recurring theme of leaves in them. For me, leaves represent spirtuality, growth and inner transformation which I have experienced over the past years.
