Aquaboard
Signed on the front.

The colours of a winter sunset walk along Killcare Beach, looking back towards Putty Beach. I find it so amazing that the colour seem to intensify as the sun gets lower in the sky, even after it pops down below the horizon. The footprints are still visible. The pink hues in the sky reflected in the water below.
I began this artwork with watercolour on the luscious surface of Aquaboard. Next came a light wash of acrylic followed by some collage with hand painted rice paper on the headland and in the clouds.
Finished off with layers of acrylic, with some medium added into the waved which added a lovely texture.
Several coats of varnish to protect the artwork have been used so there was no need to frame behind glass. The painting has been professionally framed in a beautiful Tasmanian Oak box frame.
