"On artificial natures; Kuljak Island, Tranby House, Baigup Wetlands; being a record of various encounters therein" is an exploration of the relationship between land, place, people, belonging and authenticity in response to Kuljak Island in the eastern suburbs of Perth, Western Australia along the Swan River.
The work employs various methods of direct mark making to collaborate with the natural environment in order to incorporate the identity of the place into the work itself.
The paper carries with it the marks and remnants of the process of the work, with small scuffs and tears at the edge of the paper attesting to the process of making the work as it was carried through the environment and the landscape to which it responds.
