If famous Mexican artist, Frida Kahlo, had met the female obsessed Gustav Klimt, would they have got along? I have no doubt he would have loved her and swept her off her feet. Kahlo challenged society’s views about beauty and femininity, while Klimt glorified feminine beauty. Did you know he had 14 children and never married? I think Frida would be happy to be painted in this contemporary Klimt-like style as long as it wasn’t too ornate and bejewelled. Hopefully even in Klimt’s Art Deco style, she still shines through as strong and bold. Yes, I think they would have respected and maybe even loved each other.
