This piece belongs to the 'neon_ghetto_flux' collection of works. Titled 'tokyo_sunrinse' it summarises the stereotypical elements we pin on places, people and society. Nothing seems normal but yet it is.
"The work is simply a combination of all the available techniques that I had at the time; with some imagination thrown in. It came, more or less, as an after thought to another earlier series of works regarding Japan. I thought it looked cool β and then I created the neon_ghetto_flux group of works. Artwork with bold vivid colours"
So why print?
"I've always enjoyed the history of two-dimensional styles of art. Also, working in 2D provides me with a challenge β colour, space and overlays to create life. I'm very conscious of achieving colour perfection on paper, how ink interacts with the stock, analysing printing techniques and the results. It's 'all' part of the art."
