Whether the painting is a seascape or view of a river or reflections in water, I find this subject comforting to paint and enjoy creating the watery effects. I love the drama and passion that can be captured with the big skies that sometimes form over the sea. I have a number of traditional pieces in this collection that draw on the cololurs of Turner and some essential Australian waterscenes. Some are river scenes from a holiday cruising on the waterways of Europe where there is a classic beauty to some of the scenes. I some I have used broken colours to enhance the story of the art.
