This painting is a symbolic landscape...a metaphor for the little things in life that are important. They're sometimes overlooked and seemingly ordinary but create a beautiful whole when thought about in the context of an entire life. These things are found often in our inner worlds and initially may not be obvious, but can be seen if we view closely, just as with a landscape or garden, the tiny plants and flowers may not be seen straight away.
